Is there a 10 run rule in Legion baseball? ›

All State, Regional and World Series games are seven (7) innings. 10-Run mercy rule after five innings of play or 4 ½ innings if the home team has the lead. 6. All games shall be played in accordance with National Rule 1 of the American Legion Baseball Rulebook.

No composite material at all can be in the bat, whether it be handle only and metal barrel or BESR or BBCOR rated. Only ALL METAL bats or all wood bats with BESR or BBCOR will be allowed. Metal to Metal bats are considered “all” metal.

The rule puts a daily limit on pitchers of 105 pitches in the senior and in the junior program. A pitcher may finish pitching to a batter should the limit be reached in the middle of a plate appearance.

The reason for the decertification was because the CAT 5 made any player a homerun threat. The bats were hotter than the sun's surface and it didn't take long for the governing bodies to notice.

It is not eligible for leagues other than senior softball because it is so good at making the ball pop off the bat. That extra ball speed makes for a more dangerous hit. So the bats are restricted to just old guys. I have and still own 6 or 8 models of Miken bats and the Ultra II is the best model for most batters.

Last night, we discussed my local market's Legion mods to pro rules at the plate meeting. They use the NCAA FPSR, old pro mound visits, no new inning after 2.5 hours and a 10 after 5 mercy rule.
